How Dietitians Support You

A Registered Dietitian can help you manage chronic conditions and improve your health through better eating habits. If your family doctor is affiliated with us, they can connect you with a dietitian who can:

  • work closely with you to complete a nutritional assessment
  • understand your lifestyle goals and create simple eating plans
  • provide practical tips that make healthy eating feel doable

Our team offers personalized nutrition advice that respects your cultural preferences, whether you're managing diabetes or working toward other health goals.

Managing Diabetes Through Food

Our team doesn't just know about food - they're also Certified Diabetes Educators who understand stress management and healthy living. If you are a patient of CarePoint Health, you get access to workshops that provide practical strategies and tips on managing diabetes and prediabetes. Check out these videos for common questions our dietitians receive:

Culturally Connected Care

Our team understands and appreciates diverse cultural foods from around the world. Our staff speaks Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Farsi, Dari, Serbian, and Croatian. We also offer free interpretation services to ensure we can communicate and support everyone in our community.

We have the skills and experience:

  • to understand a wide range of traditional dishes and ingredients
  • to help modify cultural recipes for better health and enjoyment
  • that respect the influence culture has on lifestyle and eating habits

Find a Dietitian

If your doctor isn't affiliated with us, you can still find a dietitian easily. Visit Find a Dietitian to search by location or health condition. Some dietitian services are covered by OHIP. You can also dial 811 or visit Health811.ontario.ca to chat online and receive a callback from a dietitian.
