Registered Dietitian

Bissan is a Registered Dietitian who has been practicing since 2018. She has experience in primary care, community health, and clinical settings, supporting patients with a wide range of health conditions and nutrition concerns.
Previously, Bissan worked in a Diabetes Education Program, where she provided outpatient nutrition counselling for individuals living with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. She has a strong interest in diabetes management.
Bissan specializes in supporting individuals with chronic health conditions, including prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, cholesterol management, and gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). She also supports patients with iron-deficiency anemia and dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). In addition, she has an interest in mindful and emotional eating, helping patients develop a balanced relationship with food.
Using a collaborative, patient-centered approach, Bissan incorporates motivational interviewing and realistic goal-setting strategies to help patients make sustainable lifestyle changes. She also enjoys helping patients identify nutritious, budget-friendly options and practical strategies for healthy eating on the go.
Bissan holds a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition, with a major in Psychology, from Western University. She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and is fluent in English and Arabic.
Outside of work, Bissan enjoys exploring local hiking trails, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends.
