Social Worker

Veronica is a passionate Mental Health advocate, offering compassionate and trauma informed care. She is registered with the Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service workers with over 10 years of experience working in the Mental Health & Addictions field. Throughout her tenure, she specialized in community-based treatment of complex concurrent disorders in youth, adults and families.
Veronica’s approach to building therapeutic relationships with individuals/ families are based on offering client centered care through a trauma informed lens. She offers a holistic approach by focusing on the bio-psycho-social model and valuing the impact of family and supportive systems when developing care plans and treatment. She utilizes multiple therapy modalities and approaches in her work including crisis intervention, talk therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), inner child work, strength-based therapy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing and mindfulness.
Before joining the CarePoint Health team, she worked in both the Mississauga/Halton LHIN and Central West LHIN specializing in opioid outreach and treatment services at Peel Addictions Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) and with the Brampton Drug treatment Program. She also previously worked in a residential setting with dually diagnosed youth with developmental and mental health disorders and most recently she worked with CMHA Toronto as a concurrent disorders specialist under the Mental Health and Justice Housing program.
